If You've Been Looking For Me....I've Been In A Gym

I've certainly spent a fair amount of time in a gym over the past 5 months....but not the one I probably should have been in.  Sigh....

With 4 boys, all playing basketball this season, we've spent a lot of time this winter testing out bleacher seating and popcorn from concession stands throughout Wisconsin.  Our basketball season officially wraps up this weekend with a final State Tournament then there's a quiet window before the first baseball tournament 4 weeks later.

It's crazy how being on a sports team has changed since I was a child, the season lengths, the practice and tournament requirements, the uniforms, well it's all just much more intense.  It's a lot to take on as a parent, especially with 4 in the house.  But seeing them develop and thrive as a part of a team, seeing them grow both mentally and physically stronger, and seeing them happy to be doing something they love, it makes it all worth it.  I'll be the first to admit though that it's not always sunshine and roses, sometimes they get in a rut and don't want to put the effort in, or aren't really enjoying a season, well then it's hard to feel like you're doing the right thing and that the time and financial sacrifices are worth it.  As with many things though, there seems to be an ebb and a flow....spirits for us all pick back up and you see that unmistakable look of pride and success on their faces, there's nothing like it as a parent.

We also managed to squeeze a little more basketball into our basketball and took our 6-pack to an NBA game while in Milwaukee for a tournament a couple of weeks ago.  Knowing we were going to be in the city I was looking around for some things to do between games and saw that the Milwaukee Bucks were playing against the Minnesota Timberwolves.  Home teams for both sides of our clan...PERFECT!  So we splurged on some amazing seats just 6 rows from the court behind the press and enjoyed our first NBA game together.

Here we go!

As for this little guy....his season was cut short.  This injury broke our hearts for sure.  A bad break with surgery after a minor break we thought was fully healed.  :-(

I'll be back soon.  We have sooooo much to catch up on!
