We May Not Be Photographers, But We Had A Great Date Night!

It's been so long since Brian and I got out for a real date and last night was perfect.  Thank you Bee!

A few weeks ago Brian had told me about a new song on the radio that he thought I would really like, describing it as "sort of folky."  I checked it out and instantly loved it!  The song was "Watching You Watch Him" by Eric Hutchinson.  Turns out I liked all the music I could find by him.

Fast forward to last week when Brian calls from work to tell me that we can do a little cruise down the river on the local dinner cruise yacht with Eric Hutchinson doing a short concert.  Yes please!!!

My parents graciously took the boys to soccer for us and we had the night to ourselves.  We ran home after work to change and then headed downtown.  We got settled in with some drinks and front row seats, took a deep breath, and RELAXED!  It was so nice actually being able to talk to each other and not just about the boys.  The concert was a lot of fun and catching up with a few friends that were there was really nice too.

After the cruise we headed over to one of our favorite restaurants, ordered some dinner, and went to a bar right above the restaurant to wait for our food.  The place is really great in the summer with indoor seating next to a removable wall.  A while later it was time to grab our food, reunite with the boys, and head home.  We finished the evening with our dinner at home and ice cream for dessert.

Here's proof that we were out, even if they are horrible phone pictures.

Love this guy!!!

  1. Hi Sarah!!
Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog so that I could find yours! Your blog name is SO clever. I love it. What a fun date night that sounds like!!! Date nights are a must. After a while if we haven't had one I get in the worst mood because it's almost like we don't get to "really" talk unless we are out on a date. We do at home dates a lot too, but date nights really are a gift these days huh?!

So I noticed that your blog is pretty new and that my mom left you a comment on your first post! I'm thinking you must follow her blog then? How funny. Small world. Well I am your newest follower so hope you keep the blog up. It's fun. Nice to meet you!

  2. Hi Sarah! What a fun night out!! I will have to look for his music. I bet I would like it. I love folksy singers. My son is a musician, and he knows and appreciates all music. I will see if he knows who he is. Do you know who Tyrone Wells is? Check him out.
Congrats to your husband with the running!!!! That plate he had did make me a bit light headed to look at so early in the morning!!!!
    Have a great day!
    XO Kris
